Plymouth

1025 Plymouth-French provincial homes were built widely in the 1950’s when soldiers came back from the war in Europe.  This was a beautiful house with lovely bones, but still a little “cut up” for the modern desire of the open concept.  The foyer walls were removed to open the staircase.  Two beams were added on either side so that the cased opening entries to living room and dining room could be eliminated.  The last wall down, was that dividing kitchen from dining room.  This allowed more light, from the original floor to ceiling windows, to reach all corners of the home.  Beautiful hardwood floors and paneling in the family room were simply restored.  Outdated tile and fixtures were replaced to complete the transformation.
